Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
This ball mount's convenient stowable design keeps the ball mount platform out of your way when you're not towing. To stow the ball mount platform, simply pull out the dual pins and remove the platform from the shank. Place the ball mount platform on the backside of the shank facing your vehicle. Reinsert the dual pins to attach the platform to the shank. The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe Built-in Scale Hitch with two stainless steel balls for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. This ball mount is going to be a great choice if you're looking for a highly-durable, premium, easy-to-use hitch. This is going to feature a built-in scale that's going to let you easily measure your tongue weight. And that's going to ensure better towing safety and performance. Now, this will slide into your two inch trailer hitch receiver, it's gonna give you two stainless steel balls.
You're gonna get a two inch and a 2 5/16 inch ball, and you're gonna be able to tow trailers of different types. And then, this is also going to give you, when you have the shank in this orientation, a maximum of a 10 inch drop. And then when you flip it over, you'll get a maximum rise of eight inches. And it's gonna have an incremental adjustment of one inch. So this is gonna be very versatile for various towing setups, and it's gonna give you that height adjustability that you're looking for, so that you can tow trailers of different heights, all with the same vehicle.
So with the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, you're gonna have a gross towing weight of 12,500 pounds. With the two inch ball, it's going to be 10,000 pounds. And then the maximum tongue weight on this unit is gonna be 1,500 pounds. Now, this does feature a tongue weight scale that's actually built into the ball mount platform, and that's gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing. This scale is gonna let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow, and it's gonna be a very simple operation.
All you have to do is every time that you couple your trailer onto this ball, this is going to automatically give you that measurement every time that you couple. So this is efficient, it's hassle-free, it's eliminating the need for separate or commercial scales. This also features this dual pin slider lock that's gonna make adjusting the height very simple. I'm gonna go ahead and remove the cover here real quick. Take one of the keys, insert it into the the keyway there, give it a turn.
Then that's going to allow me to remove our dual pin slider lock. Looking at this mechanism, I just wanted to show you that our pins here are aluminum, the housing's aluminum, and the lock is plated steel. So this is very durable, it's gonna resist corrosion. It's gonna do a great job of securing the ball platform to the shank. And so, with that removed, you are going to be able to slide this up and down, wherever that you need it for that adjustability. And I also wanted to show you that it is stowable. So I'm just gonna flip this around here just to show you that if you're not gonna be towing for any length of time and you want that ball out of your way, so you don't bump your shin up against it when you're walking behind your vehicle, you can just flip the ball mount in this orientation underneath our shank here. And then, of course, you'll just replace the pin and clips. And that's going to allow you to stow this. So that's a great feature that is included here. Now, while I have the ball platform removed from the shank, I wanted to show you how easy this is to swap out the ball. So you see that we have a retainer pin there. Now, you can typically just tip this over, and that pin will slide out. But if it's tied in there, you can use that ring to pull the pin out, so that'll be very easy. I've got the two inch ball, let me go ahead and replace it with the 2 5/16 inch ball. You do wanna line up the hole, so that pin can slide right on through. So let me tip this up, so I can see. So that pin's gonna slide right back into place. And then you wanna make sure that that rings in that cavity there. And so, I'm currently on my 2 5/16 inch ball. And then let me go ahead and replace my slider pin. Just like that, just gonna line up the holes here. It's a little bit trickier to do on a rotating table here with this tall of shank. There we go. And give it a turn. And I am locked into place. So you're not really gonna be at the back of your vehicle struggling to get that height adjustment that you need or the tow ball that you are going to need. It's gonna be a pretty easy operation. So this hitch is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum, giving you superior strength and durability. I consider this a premium hitch, especially because of the finish that's on this. This features a Cerakote finish. So that's a ceramic coating that's gonna give you an extra layer of corrosion resistance, scratch protection, and durability. So not only does this finish make this look great on the back of your truck, but if you tow in harsh environments, such as salty winter roads or extreme weather conditions, this durable finish is gonna do a great job of protecting this hitch, keeping it looking great and working properly for many years to come. So everything that you see here, you got four keys here, this is gonna be keyed alike, you're gonna get this hitch pin lock to make sure that this is secured in the back of your trailer hitch receiver. So one key is gonna operate both of these locks here, and you'll basically have three backup keys. This comes with the theft deterrent built in to protect your investment. And let me give you some measurements here. Measuring from the center of our ball to the center of our first hitch pin hole, about 8 1/2 inches. Moving to the second hitch pin hole, about 9 5/8 inches. And from the center of our second hitch pin hole to the end of our shank, about 1 7/8 inches. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Trailer hitch is in great shape and anything/everything I buy from etrailer is just like this! Great trailer hitch for up north as it will not rust easily like my steel ones have in the past.
